Among the many claims made by demonstrators converging on Ottawa for the “Freedom Convoy” is that the Canadian government’s vaccine mandate constitutes a “crime against humanity”. For over a decade, I have studied mass atrocities and worked with people in states around the globe to address international crimes. The use of “crimes against humanity” in the context of Canada’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t just wrong, it is dangerous.
On Twitter, former hockey player Theo Fleury declared that “Trudeau has finally united Canadians. We are united against him. #CrimesAgainstHumanity #treason”. The statement garnered significant support, with almost 8,000 ‘likes’. Fleury was perhaps taking his cue from James Bauder, one of the right-wing organizers of the Convoy, who has claimed that Trudeau “should be arrested… for participating in committing crimes against humanity.”
There have been and continue to exist legitimate concerns about the possible over-reach of governing authorities in response to the pandemic. In Quebec, for example, a lockdown curfew was put in place in 2021 and then enforced by Premier François Legault against homeless people. The policy likely contributed to the death of at least one person, Raphaël André, who froze to death in a portable toilet after being unable to find shelter during curfew hours. There are also open questions over whether the federal government’s closure of the southern border to asylum seekers violated international human rights law or whether the decision of provinces, such as Newfoundland, to close their borders to non-residents was justified.
Still, none of these harms – absolutely none – amount to a crime against humanity.
The idea of defining atrocities as crimes against humanity originates from efforts to abolish the slave trade in the United States. Towards the end of World War II, the term was formalized in law, and the Nazi regime’s leadership was charged with crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg trials. The core idea was that these atrocities were so heinous, so shocking, that they were not just crimes against their victims, but against all of humanity.
A cruel irony of those insisting that Canadian authorities have committed crimes against humanity is their association with figures toting the insignia of the very mass atrocity perpetrators that crimes against humanity were intended to address: in Ottawa this past weekend, some protestors brandished the Confederate Flag, a symbol associated with white supremacy and slavery, and Swastikas, the signature of Nazism.
For an act to constitute a crime against humanity, it must constitute “a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack”. That is from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which Canada has domesticated, making it Canadian law. Among the acts which, if widespread or systematically committed, could amount to a crime against humanity is murder, enslavement, torture, apartheid, rape and sexual violence, and enforced disappearances. Missing from this list? Having to wear masks, being inoculated from a deadly virus with a vaccine, or standing six feet apart.
In Canada, the only people that have any reasonable basis to argue that it has been systematically subject to these kinds of crimes are Indigenous communities. This much has been made clear in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s report as well as the more recent report on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, which added that the policies of the government over decades also amounted to genocide – a finding Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accepted.
To call public health policies crimes against humanity dilutes the term of its power at precisely the time it needs to be used to address actual atrocities around the world. Communities across the globe are facing governments willing to commit mass atrocities against them with impunity.
Consider the following snapshot. In Myanmar, recent reports suggest that the military junta that took power last year has continued its repression of civilians, especially those who dare to dissent in the name of democracy or justice. In Yemen, an ongoing civil war has resulted in mass civilian casualties, including hundreds of children. One party to that war, Saudi Arabia, uses arms manufactured and sold to them by Canada, despite pleas from human rights groups to end the practice..
At the same time, there are also perpetrators of crimes against humanity here in Canada. The most recent estimates suggest that at least 200 perpetrators of international crimes live in the country. Rather than prosecute them, though, the government seeks to deport them back to where they committed their crimes, with no guarantee that justice will be done.
We should be talking about crimes against humanity, just not made up ones. Abusing the term neuters the crime of its power, distracts from situations where it is actually perpetrated, and risks making justice for victims of atrocities less likely.

Important post or issue these days.
But, it is not so audacious to call it so (crime against humanity).
Maybe it is not so I mean legally, formally. Yet, people feel huge frustration. Huge pain. Huge helplessness. Subjectively so, correct. Yet, that is what they feel. How to call it then ? It is based on certain subjective suspicion concerning the alleged illicit motives of governments in this regard (the post hasn’t mentioned it at all by the way). And suppose that such suspicion would be real, and represent something (again, subjectively so). How to call it then ? That is what they believe in. In other cases by the way, all along history, such claims have been dismissed, and many times (and in times) revealed to be correct. What do we know ? (without blaming no one here, for so far, there are no substantial proofs for no alleged conspiracy here, but, the origin of the virus).
Let them protest, and, manifest at least some apathy towards their pain. That’s it.
By the way, Bolsonaro, refused to do something in order to fight the pandemic. Guess what ? A complaint has been lodged at the ICC against him, and alleging what ? Crime against humanity. Would you call it so by the way ? Here for example:

P.S: Not to forget by the way. The list of conducts constituting crimes against humanity, is not limited one. There is a residual clause there (k) stating: “Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.”

Many thanks for this post. The crime against humanity is not so much the mandates, but the vaccines themselves. I will explain if I may. Standard text which I adapt accordingly.
I have had my fair share of vaccines, including polio I believe. I used to think vaccines were of some use until, at 60 years of age in 2020, I researched properly. I changed my mind.
Covid 19 is the ‘flu, dressed up as a monster to scare people, re-branded if you will. This helps big pharma etc, control the populace and make more money.
The ‘flu is the internal toxicosis of the body, mainly via urea, partly due to metabolism of food and partly due to the many poisons in our environment which can and do enter our bodies in the air, food and water. The ‘flu cannot be transmitted to someone else as it is individual to each person.
Unless your blood is given to someone in a blood transfusion, for example.
Injecting poisons such as via vaccines merely adds to the toxicosis problem. Vaccines have never been of any use, it is merely that constant and persistent ‘advertising’ persuaded people that they were of use. The various deaths and harm have been well-documented over the decades. It is being documented now.
Vitamin D deficiency is the true pandemic due to indoor working and living away from the sunshine which, if we do the right thing things, will give us vitamin D (free!). Big pharma etc. are not keen on free as they don’t make much money out of it.
Vitamin D levels drop in the winter months, depending on latitude, due to reduced sunshine levels and as any gains in the summer months are depleted.
Lack of vitamin D causes rickets among other things. Polio was merely rickets re branded again for big pharma to make money. The polio vaccine was pointless. A good dose of vitamin D such as was once given via cod liver oil in a spoon (a disgusting taste I understand). You can now get this in capsule form of course.
Vaccines are neuro-toxins, if there is anything in them at all, as are most big pharma drugs. Therefore they are at best pointless.
If your immune system is in good order then by and large you will tolerate a poisonous vaccine. If weakened you will suffer various side effects. If your immune system is very poor you may die.
Boosting your immune system with vitamin D can go a long way to protecting you against the toxicosis, but vitamin C is very good as an anti-oxidant to help flush the toxins out of your system. By and large you should be able to gain your vitamins etc from good, untainted food. Highly processed foods will not help.
I have seen the statistics on Australia since February 2020. These show a close correlation between Covid cases and vaccination. It is abundantly clear the vaccines are causing the case numbers rise, as would be expected. Look at other statistics and you will no doubt see the same correlation.

It should be noted that fear tends to ‘freeze’ the body’s immune system from functioning correctly and can stop people doing sensible things. Like avoiding having foreign bodies injected into their systems.
And I wonder how many people would choose to have a vaccine if they had to pay for them directly rather than via their taxes (vaccination is not free)?
As regards vaccinated/unvaccinated I gather the goal posts keep changing so unvaccinated currently means not fully vaccinated. This means people who have had vaccines are lumped in with those who have not had recent vaccines. Therefore the people of the world are being duped into having something nasty put into their bodies.
Unless they like playing Russian roulette with their bodies of course. But then that is both sad and mad.
As regards reasons of variance of symptoms, if any, between those who are vaccinated the problem lies in not knowing what exactly in each vial; sadly people will sell nothing for something and the vial might contain only saline, it is impossible to tell without testing each vial.
Vaccines are causing the issues by and large nowadays and case numbers and deaths will rise as a consequence. I recommend avoiding vaccines like the plague.

So while we may not see mass slaughter of the masses as it were, the people are being poisoned for, no benefit whatsoever, a gross fraud on an industrial scale that has been going on for decades. There have been numerous death as and harm.
So I count that as an atrocity and a crime against humanity, regardless of all the other atrocities committed elsewhere, which are no less atrocities of course.

Please excuse the nom-de-plume, this is as much for fun as a riddle for people to solve if they wish.
The simple fact remains, that there is zero long term data on the vaccines. This makes them experimental. Forced mandates for an ineffective medication, with unknown, long term synergistic effects is indeed a crime against humanity.
There is a reason that society has pretty much eradicated smallpox and polio. However, if you are COVID vaccinated, you can still spread and catch COVID. The selling point is that people vaccinated are less likely to be hospitalized.
But, even if you have already had COVID, they still want you to be vaccinated. I think there is a big pharma push so that they make more money. My doctor wanted me to get vaccinated. I told him, “I don’t really think it works.” His response was, “Well, that doesn’t matter.”
It is a crime against humanity. One that requires jail or worse for thousands of people that collaborated on pushing a vaccine and lockdowns, knowing the entire COVID premise was false and the vaccine was unsafe.
Goose stepping Trudeau is one of those.
The MSM did zero investigation and just trotted out the lies given to them daily by lying government officials even when there was evidence that what they were told was entirely false.
Nobody should get away with what they knowingly did.
